"Batik Sunrise" is a large wall quilt that highlights the rich patterns of whole cloth batik fabric, framed by a border of blending colors. The quilt is hand quilted throughout, with vertical lines enhanced by applique and thread-wrapping techniques that introduce both texture and visual interest. The result is a harmonious composition that balances tradition with intricate detail.

This piece has a history of being a quilt before it became a triptych. Three equal sized panels with different but similar design patterns all suspended from a hemp thread wrapped 2" dowel.
